What's the procedures at a hair salon?

My hair was always cut by my mom... *cringes* %26gt;.%26lt;; ...so I've decided to go to a hair salon this time to have my hair cut professionally. Can you also give me the average price for a cut?What's the procedures at a hair salon?
I pay about 40 dollars, minus tip. Usually the tip is about 6 bucks because the lady does a very good job. You find the one you want, usually referred by a friend or something, call them up and ask for an appointment. When you go in, tell them what you'd like (better yet, bring a picture!) and let them do their stuff.





You could go to SuperCuts or something if you want something cheaper, though. Just be very alert and make sure they're doing what you want. ;)

Often the salons at the mall will say ';drop-ins welcome'; or something in front of their store. So just go on in and tell them what you'd like! If it doesn't say that, you can go ahead in and ask if they accept drop-ins, and if not ask for an appointment. :)What's the procedures at a hair salon?
